Rocky Point!

We just returned from Peurto Penasco and had a blast! We went with three other families, the Zweifel's, the Kempton's, and the Revie's, and stayed in a beach house in Las Conchas. W e had a great time going to the beach everyday. This was Caden's first experience at the beach and, of course, he loved it! Both he and Lexi had a fun time building sand castles and playing in the sand. Caden loved to put on his goggles and swim under water to try and find some fish. It took Lexi some time to warm up to the beach, but by the 3rd day she was loving it. The water was perfect and was very relaxing. Clint had fun, but didn't want to leave without riding ATV's. Of course he talked the boys into going with him and I'm glad he was able to fulfill his wish! =)

We also had fun going to the Aquarium where we saw many fun and interesting sea creatures. The little girls all had fun doing a little shopping, where all they all got matching bracelets. Also, what's Mexico without some good Mexican food? We enjoyed eating at some authentic Mexican restaurants. The most fun was the people we were with. It was so much fun to have a big house and all hang out together. Late night games are always the best! We had such a good time and can't wait to do it again!

Me and my hunky beach boy!

The girls loved this raft and played on it forever!

The best family photo we could get of us on the beach. My poor blue eyed kids couldn't open their eyes because it was too bright.

Shiner!

Yesterday we went to the splash park, which the kids just love. The kids love going because they can run around and get all wet on the splash pad and then run over to the playgound and actually slide down the slide without it burning their little bottoms. I love it because they are bound to wear themselves out and then we have a quiet afternoon while everyone naps! =) While we were there yesterday, Caden had a little run in and I thought it was no big deal! Wrong!
Here's Caden with his nice big black eye. He was running through the tunnel (like the picture below) and I think as the water was spraying he slipped and fell and hit his eye right on one of the iron poles. Ow! It was a little red yesterday, so I thought it was no big deal. Boy was I wrong. When he woke up this morning it was nice and swollen and all black and blue. It seems as time goes on it keeps looking worse. That's the way bruises work right? They get worse before they get better. He's a great sport and hasn't complained at all.

New Do!

Caden FINALLY got his hair cut! Clint and I both decided that it was time to cut it. We loved the long shag, but thought it was getting a bit too long. We didn't want to keep cutting it every other week, so we went shorter than it's been. Caden was such a good sport and did so well while Aunt Ashley cut his hair. I think he is quite the little stud! Watch out girls!

Pre-Kindergarten...already???

Lexi's first day of pre-kindergarten was today. She was very excited and told me she had to look pretty, so she had to wear a dress. She is such a girly girl! It sounded like she had lots of fun. She told me they talked about bears today and read the story Corduroy. She also came home with gummy bears that she is supposed to sort by color. Lexi told me that "this is going to be way more fun than apple's to zebra's" (her preschool last year). We're just glad that she is excited and we know she'll do great!

Growing gills...

As I've said all summer long, Caden loves swimming! He is such a fish and could stay in the water and be happy for hours. He loves to jump in, doing a belly flop, which he'll do over and over. I guess it must not hurt that bad. He's also started to swim to the side. We're trying to teach him to lift his head and take a breath as he's swimming because he holds his breath for so long. This kid really has no fear and will try it all.
We go to a friend's house for play group and he loves to jump in from the diving board and swim to me. Also, every time I'm at the public pool I get someone who asks me how old he is and they're shocked that he's only two and can swim as well as he does. I tell them that he's a natural and has always loved the water and is learning to swim with Daddy's help.
Here's some video of Caden jumping in to Daddy and swimming over to Grandpa.
