out of the mouth of a 5 year old...

Sometimes the kids come home and amaze me with what they learned at school that day.  They often out smart me and I begin to wonder why I don't know that!  Other times they come home from school and have learned something a little earlier than you'd hoped!

Last night, while eating dinner, Caden asks Dad, "Is this bad?" {while holding up his middle finger}
Clint proceeds to tell him "yes!" and that it's not nice to do.  I was busy clearing the dishes and turned around to see him still holding up his finger.  I immediately interjected and let Caden know that he shouldn't do that.  He continues to ask Clint questions {who's much calmer than I} and gets out of him that it means an "f" word.  He quickly bursts out "fart?!" We both laugh and tell him "no".  He continues on thinking of all "f" words he knows, and is quickly bugged he can't figure it out.

About 5 minutes go by and Clint and I hear Caden in the other room talking to Lexi.

"Hey Lexi!  Do you know of a really bad word that starts with "f"?  It's like the baddest of all the bad words!"  He continued on for a moment, but neither one of them knew, so it was quickly dropped.

It was really quite hilarious! Let's just hope he's forgotten for now and we won't have to brush on that subject for a while longer.

hummus...

My kids l.o.v.e. hummus!  I don't know how or why, but we devour this stuff at our house.  Apparently, we like it on just about anything!

Merry Christmas

Caden was the first to wake on Christmas morning and headed into our room at 6:30am.  We told him to wait for Lexi to wake up, but by 7:30 he was done waiting and we let him wake her up.

That afternoon we headed to church, which was so nice to have Christmas on a Sunday.  I felt like we actually took a "time out" from all the hustle and bustle to remember and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.

After that, we headed to my parents house where we got to spend some time talking to Jordan {who's on a mission in New Jersey} which was fun.  Then our kids enjoyed their 2nd round of fun!

Grandma and Grandpa Jensen gave the kids a Wii.  As they were opening it they began to scream, "Wii, Wii, Wii!"

Caden put on quite the show for us with his new paper jamz!

Finally, it was off to the Albright's where we enjoyed a delicious feast.  Literally.  Clint's Mom makes the yummiest food for Christmas dinner!  I wish I had taken out my camera and taken some pictures with all the cousins, but I forgot.  It was a great day!

Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve we traditionally go out to eat with my family.  Following dinner we decided to head to the temple lights because we hadn't been yet this year.

When we got home the kids opened their new pajamas and we read the Christmas story together.  After that, the kids threw their reindeer food in both the front and backyard {because who knows where the reindeer will park it?!} After that the kids prepped their brownie and milk for Santa and were off to bed!

Breaking Dawn

Vampire Partay! {or werewolf party, depending on your preference!}  My friend is a bit of a maniac fanatic for the Twilight Series.  With that being said, she wasn't going to let Breaking Dawn come out without throwing a huge bash first!  She went all out!  The food, the games, the decor! Everything Twilight!  It was a blast and a fun Girls' night!
