Breaking Dawn

Vampire Partay! {or werewolf party, depending on your preference!}  My friend is a bit of a maniac fanatic for the Twilight Series.  With that being said, she wasn't going to let Breaking Dawn come out without throwing a huge bash first!  She went all out!  The food, the games, the decor! Everything Twilight!  It was a blast and a fun Girls' night!

Albright Christmas

This year, my mother in law decided to have a progressive dinner for our annual Albright party.  It was such a hit with lots of good food, good stories and good times with some of my favorite people!

House #1: Curt & Ashley's
Story: The Gingerbread Man

 Curt was hilarious!  He had us all laughing!
 the kids making their gingerbread houses

House #2: Daryl and Lynessa's
Story: Stone Soup
Grandma read Stone Soup and had us all chiming in on , "Soup from a stone?! Fancy that!"

Archer trying his hand at the pinata

Caden gave it some good whacks.

and just before Lexi took a swing it broke!

House #3: Our house
Story: The Christmas Story

We ended up at our house for a hot chocolate bar and some yummy dessert.  We watched the video of the Christmas Story and finished off the night with the cousins doing their book exchange.

Annual Standage Party

As always, the Standage {Clint's Mom's family} Holiday Party was lots of fun!  Due to rain, the trains weren't running this year which the kids were bummed about.  But we did enjoy a visit from Mr. S.C. himself!

Lexi and Caden happy as can be...

...Archer on the other hand; not so much!

He was much happier outside riding the Jeep with Piper!

The Albright Clan {minus the Mississippians}

ugly sweater party...

We've been to several fun holiday parties this year.  One was an ugly sweater party which was such a blast!  Here's what Clint and I ended up wearing:

{Clint's sweater reads: "May your holidays be bright" and mine had some built in pouffy shoulder pad sleeves...gotta love it!

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with my family this year.  After the feast, my Mom planned "A Minute to Win it" for us to play.  I have to say...it was SO much fun and everyone could participate {just scaled down slightly for the kids!}

Here's a few photos I took before my camera battery died:

Clint seriously couldn't stop "trying" A BIT DICEY til he got it.  It is a lot harder than it looks to get 6 dice balanced on a popsicle stick in your mouth for 10 seconds!

My Mom surprisingly did very well {maybe a little too good to make the rest of us wonder if she'd "practiced" a bit while planning?!}

Until next year...we'll be practicing all sorts of fun games to brush up on our skills!

crazy day

A few days ago, the kids had crazy sock and hair day at school!  They loved spray painting their hair {yes, Caden's is black and white even though in the picture you can't tell}.  Lexi wanted a ponytail on half her head and a braid on the other half.  {She's a girl that knows what she wants!}  Fun times!

Halloween

Once again, I feel like Halloween is a week long celebration rather than one day.  The same night we went to our party my parents took the kids to the fall festival at the school where they had tons of fun.  Then on Sat. night we went to our ward fall festival where they invited the whole neighborhood.  It was full of fun with a bounce house, face painting, carnival games, a haunted house and trick or treating.  Then finally on Monday night {Halloween} we dressed up once again to go trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.  The kids had a blast and got way way too much candy!

AMAZING

We were invited to the most amazing Halloween scavenger hunt party ever!  We knew it was going to be over the top from the minute we received the invite in the mail and had no idea who was hosting the party other than "Hilda Witchway".  Well, we were right...this party did not disappoint!  We were put in teams and had to come up with a "team theme" days before the party.  We then showed up at an unknown location and were given our first clue which led us to run around looking for other clues. Some of the fun included downing a gallon of ice cream, canoeing around a lake, egg hunting, finding a mysterious book in a book store {which ended up getting the cops called on us} and many more hysterical and unforgettable moments!

Our team color was white, so we decided to go as corpse bride and grooms.  Let me just say it was a blast...and yes, we won best costume!

It's hard to see all of the details of our costumes, but we got really into it.  We even had blinking diamond rings and glowing heart pins and decorated our vehicle to say "just married" with cans hanging from the tail.  It was incredible how every group got so into it.  Some of the other groups were: team twilight {with red contacts and all!}, team rednecks {they were just as you'd picture square dancers who win a contest at the state fair = hilarious}, team Harry Potter, team Richard Simmons {dressed in all their 80's workout gear},  team Pigs in a Blanket, team Men in Black, and team Ceiling Fans!  Such a fun time!!!

"That is so totally Bunco..."

Yes, it's true...I'm part of THE most fun Bunco group and I love it!  Who doesn't love a girls night out with good food, a night full of laughter, and great friends?!  With it being so close to Halloween this month, we had a dress up theme.  I dressed as an 80's valley girl and had so much fun creating my costume!  My kiddos all couldn't get enough and thought it was "so cool" that their mom was dressing up.  Caden kept saying, "Mom, that is so 80's!"

Here's my getup!

Here's our group (minus Stacy).  Notice the Bunco ~3 dice all the same~ such a cute idea!

"boo"

Last week we were "Booed" by some friends in our ward!  {I only know this because my husband heard someone outside and told the kids to hurry out to see who it was as he watched out through the blinds!}

So as we then took our turn to "Boo" some friends, Clint was sure to let the kids know all the "ins" and "outs" to doorbell ditching!
  • we wear all black!  Yes the kids all went and found any and all black in their closets and came out dressed head to toe in their "disguise".
  • we don' make ANY noise.  This includes the sound from Clint's flip flops flopping up and down...thus if you wear flip flops you MUST take them off and run barefoot.
  • It's better overall to just wear tennis shoes so you can run faster!
  • 1. Walk up the front porch  2. put the paper and goodies down  3. ring the doorbell  4.  RUN and hide!
  • Don't go back to check and see if they came...this is the moment they are waiting for you and you will be caught!
I was definitely cracking up as he got them psyched and ready to go!  These are some of the greatest moments.  My husband is such a kid at heart and loves to make things much more fun and exciting than I ever would!

Mr. Mischievous

a.k.a. little troublemaker, aka Archer Briggs!  Seriously, this kid is giving me a run for my money!  Here are the things this little man {I say that cause I sometimes question that he is only 18 months!} has been up to:

He is a climber!  Really he has NO fear.  I catch him multiple time a day climbing up the shelves in the pantry and holding on like he's a monkey.   The other day as he did his acrobatic climb he reached my spice rack and happened to drop the glass mustard seed bottle, which of course broke and caused mustard seeds to be in every possible place in my kitchen!
note: Clint really needs to make my pantry lockable!

This little guy will find a way to get into what he wants.  He learned several months ago that there is a stool in the bathroom that he can easily carry to access something he can't reach.  As I was busily trying to get ready for the day {that's pretty much when these things always happen}, he climbed on the stool to reach a signed paper that Lexi needed to return to school.  He also opened the drawer and took the scissors out.  When I caught him he was sitting on the floor stabbing the paper with the scissors.  Needless to say, I had to tape that paper back together the best I was able.

One of Archer's favorite things is to empty my pantry of everything he can reach and stack them on the floor.  He was doing this and I was trying to give the kid some "fun and creative time".  So, when he opened the syrup bottle and proceeded to dump the sticky maple sap all over my carpet I missed it!  It wasn't until I stepped in the mess that I noticed it was strewn pretty much throughout half the family room!

Archer apparently likes capri suns.  And likes squirting the sticky mess out even more.  How many 18 month olds can get the wrapper off that tiny yellow straw and poke it in the top EVERY time on his own!  Heck...my 5 year old can't even do it sometimes!

Just today, as I was once again trying to get make up on, I all of a sudden hear Miranda Cosgrove {aka icarly} blaring from the computer.  I hurry in to find Archer standing on my computer chair holding the mouse and putting his hands up in the air.  I ask him if he wants to dance and he shakes his head "yes".  We dance for a moment and I turn off the computer.  Nearly, 3 minutes later the music is blaring again.  I run in and he again has his hands in the air.  I don't know whether to be worried that he's gonna fall or harm the computer, or be amazed that he can somehow use the mouse and click the itunes folder and play a song!  I mean really?  What happened to watching Sesame Street and playing with blocks?!

This naughty boy has also filled my toilet multiple times with every toy and tampon he could find!

Oh, Archer if you weren't so cute and didn't give the best cuddles...you may be in a lot more trouble!

Hallelujah!!!

18 Months = Nursery!!!!

Need I say more?!

Ward Campout

This past weekend we went to Woods Canyon Lake to camp with our ward.  The weather was beautiful and we had such a good time.  The ward did dinner and breakfast the next morning which made for a lot easier of a time!  We took our bikes and rode along a paved trail to the lake.  The ward brought several canoes, which Lexi and Clint went on, while Caden fished with his friend Michael and covered himself in mud!  Where was I? Chasing my 18 month around the whole time!  It was fun to spend time with all of our great friends!  We feel so blessed to have such an awesome ward!

Playing "fruit basket" ~ what would a campout be without a card game?!
My cute little camper!
Ella and Lexi {besties!}

Here's our good neighbors, the Troutman's.  They were taking Lexi along with them and just as Shawn pushed off...the canoe began to teeter and they couldn't get it steady, which caused them to turn over.  Luckily they were right at the shore where they could all reach.  I was so caught up in the moment, I didn't grab an action shot!  It was quite hilarious...Lexi even thought so.
Even though these girls were drenched {not to mention probably freezing}  they hopped right back on and went out on the lake anyways!
This is just before Caden really started in on the mud.  {what is it with my boys and mud?}  He was seriously covered by the time we left.

Clint and Ryan had to see how fast they could paddle.
