Success!!!

Lexi decided last week that she wanted to ride her bike without the training wheels. (Several months ago she tried and didn't pick it up right away so she had Dad put her training wheels back on.) This time was different. She had decided that's what she wanted and had Dad take the training wheels off and headed down to the park for an hour. When she came back she was so excited to tell me that she is "soooo good!" She tumbled and fell a few times, but for the most part picked it up really quickly. She now loves it and wants to go riding every day! Yay! Go Lexi!!!

Love to ride down the hill...so fun!

boys will be boys...

You may be wondering why I have a picture of my sweet son and these sweet dried cranberries?! On Monday morning Caden wanted a snack (when does he not?) and since it was still 9am I told him he could have something healthy. He opted for Craisins. I was busy on the computer registering him for soccer when all of a sudden he screams and starts crying the cry when you know something is WRONG. So I run over to him and he's got a fist full of Craisins and some how, through the freaking out tells me that he has one up his nose! I get him to calm down somewhat and he says that he put a craisin up his nose to help get his boogers out. Why do kids (boys) think that putting something more up your nose is going to clear it out?! Who knows!

My first initial thought was let's go in the bathroom and see if blowing your nose will get it out. We tried several times and nothing but blood. Now I'm a little nervous and start thinking that we're going to have to take him in because it must be lodged way up there. Luckily Clint was working from home and was able to calm Caden down enough for me to look up his nostril and sure enough there was a craisin right there. I know that you hear to not do anything because you may cause it to go further in, but I could see it right there and figured with Clint holding him down I could probably get it out with tweezers. Luckily I was able to get it out and we didn't have to spend the morning at the Dr.'s. I think Caden learned his lesson and hopefully we won't have to encounter this again!

Day of Play

On Saturday we didn't have a lot going on so I looked up some fun things to do this weekend and found this Day of Play They had lots of fun blow ups that were either bouncers or obstacle courses. Caden and Lexi loved them. They also had carnival games and a petting zoo. The kids had a blast and didn't want to go home!

Isn't this baby goat cute? Lexi thought so!

Caden loved the bunnies! He sat there and pet them forever!

Simple Pleasures...

Who knew that having an oven light was such a cool thing? From these pictures it is apparent that we were living a little too long with a very outdated oven. We baked cookies the other day and the kids loved that they could watch the process of the cookie dough melting down and baking into a cookie! I love when the kids find joy in the simple things in life!

I have no idea what Caden is doing in this picture; and yes, he is always in a swimsuit!
