Lexi's Birthday!

It's hard to believe that my baby girl just turned 6! She wanted to celebrate at Peter Piper Pizza and since I'm 9 months pregnant I was all about a party that would be fairly easy for me. Lexi's birthday is always right at Spring Break time, so we manage to have about half her friends there. The girls had a great time.

Some of my favorite things about Lexi:

  • She is so smart! She impresses me every day with her brightness!
  • She loves to read.
  • She is very crafty; always making a card for someone or drawing in a notebook. Give her a notebook and pencil and she'll be entertained for hours!
  • She loves her friends and is always trying to be a great friend. Her teacher in school told me the other day how impressed she was with Lexi. She brought a card to a girl who has some behavior issues and Ms. Warren said she really needs the kind of encouragement that Lexi was giving her.
  • She is a great sister and I know will be a big help with her new little brother.
  • She loves to sing. Give that girl a microphone and watch out!

We sure love you Lexi and can't believe you're 6!

Love these moments!

We went to Grandma Jensen's on Sunday which was her "actual" birthday and my Mom made these adorable flower cake pops for her. Aren't they cute?!

Happy Anniversary

Clint and I celebrated our 7 year annivesary on the 13th! It's hard to believe how fast the years have gone. We have done a lot in 7 years and are excited to see what the next several bring. Being 9 months prego and not wanting to, or should I say not feeling like doing a whole lot I told Clint I wanted to go to Arcadia Farms. I've been wanting to try it out and I'm so glad we did. It is very cute and a perfect place for this time of year with their outdoor seating. I'd suggest going especially for a nice brunch or lunch!

Yes, I know I'm looking huge! Keep in mind this is 6 days before I'm having my baby!

Isn't it just cute! Love it!

Afterwards we took a nice stroll through old town Scottsdale. (The weather right now...I can't get enough!) And we finished off the evening by going to the Sugar Bowl. Another classic and cute place to go for dessert.

Happy Annivesary! I love you Babe!

Spring Carnival

Lexi's school had a really fun spring carnival this past weekend. We went together as a family and had a lot of fun. Some of the excitement included bounce houses, obstacle course, slides a few kiddie rides (spinning bear & train) and of course carnival games (with all the un-needed prizes they win!). I took a few pictures...but somehow forgot about my camera practically the whole time.

Spinning bear ride. I'm actually surprised Lexi liked it. I thought she inherited my sensitive stomach!

Caden wanted his face painted like batman!

Success!!!

Lexi decided last week that she wanted to ride her bike without the training wheels. (Several months ago she tried and didn't pick it up right away so she had Dad put her training wheels back on.) This time was different. She had decided that's what she wanted and had Dad take the training wheels off and headed down to the park for an hour. When she came back she was so excited to tell me that she is "soooo good!" She tumbled and fell a few times, but for the most part picked it up really quickly. She now loves it and wants to go riding every day! Yay! Go Lexi!!!

Love to ride down the hill...so fun!

boys will be boys...

You may be wondering why I have a picture of my sweet son and these sweet dried cranberries?! On Monday morning Caden wanted a snack (when does he not?) and since it was still 9am I told him he could have something healthy. He opted for Craisins. I was busy on the computer registering him for soccer when all of a sudden he screams and starts crying the cry when you know something is WRONG. So I run over to him and he's got a fist full of Craisins and some how, through the freaking out tells me that he has one up his nose! I get him to calm down somewhat and he says that he put a craisin up his nose to help get his boogers out. Why do kids (boys) think that putting something more up your nose is going to clear it out?! Who knows!

My first initial thought was let's go in the bathroom and see if blowing your nose will get it out. We tried several times and nothing but blood. Now I'm a little nervous and start thinking that we're going to have to take him in because it must be lodged way up there. Luckily Clint was working from home and was able to calm Caden down enough for me to look up his nostril and sure enough there was a craisin right there. I know that you hear to not do anything because you may cause it to go further in, but I could see it right there and figured with Clint holding him down I could probably get it out with tweezers. Luckily I was able to get it out and we didn't have to spend the morning at the Dr.'s. I think Caden learned his lesson and hopefully we won't have to encounter this again!

Day of Play

On Saturday we didn't have a lot going on so I looked up some fun things to do this weekend and found this Day of Play They had lots of fun blow ups that were either bouncers or obstacle courses. Caden and Lexi loved them. They also had carnival games and a petting zoo. The kids had a blast and didn't want to go home!

Isn't this baby goat cute? Lexi thought so!

Caden loved the bunnies! He sat there and pet them forever!
