Here are his 12 month stats:

Look WHO'S 7!!!

Happy Birthday Lexi Lou !!!  Whoa, where has the time gone?  This girl is full of spunk and sass, but we sure love her!  Lexi has been saying that she wanted a new beach cruiser bike for her birthday.  Clint and I told her that if she wanted a cruiser than she wasn't going to have a party also.  She agreed and was fine with that. {I must say, that it was great not having to plan two birthday parties in one week with Archer's coming up!}  We also told her that she could choose something fun to do for her birthday and she remembered that Cinderella was playing at the Hale Centre Theatre.  Saturday, I decided to take her to that and both Grandma's and Lexi's girl cousins joined in on the fun!
We then went over to the Albright's on Sunday and celebrated there.  Lexi found this cute owl cake and I decided to give it a try.  Clint, Lexi and I all had fun decorating it!
Then on Monday, the actual bday, Lexi woke up and had Krispy Kreme's for breakfast.  She then went shopping and out to lunch with Grandma Jensen.  She came home with a very cute purse and many more fun accessories.  At this age that's what it's all about!  I made her her favorite meal {chicken alfredo} for dinner and then she got her new bike!  We celebrated by going on a family bike ride and playing at the park.
Happy 7th Birthday girlie!!!

shark teeth

About two months ago, as I was brushing Lexi's teeth I noticed that her permanent teeth were growing in directly behind her bottom baby teeth.  I tried wiggling the bottom teeth and there was absolutely no give!  So I was slightly concerned, just because I didn't want her permanent teeth coming in "extra" crooked or far back due to the baby teeth still being there.  I took Lexi in to the dentist and he said that "shark teeth" are very common and 9 times out of 10 the baby teeth will end up falling out with some help from the child.  Lexi wanted to give the wiggling thing a go, so we decided to wait on just pulling them out that day.  Well, as it turns out Lexi didn't really want to work on wiggling them out...so I ended up taking her back in to pull them right before her birthday. {Our dental insurance doesn't let kids see a pediatric dentist once they're 7!  Ridiculous, don't you think?!  Since I was comfortable with her dentist we decided if her babies weren't loose by her birthday we'd go ahead and have them pulled.}  She did great and was so excited to have FINALLY lost a tooth {or two!} She was even more excited for the Tooth Fairy!  She filled up a paper with questions for the TF and wanted her to answer them on the back.  You better believe the TF did come and she even left some pixie dust along with the money and let her keep her teeth!

These are the Shark Teeth

So MANY questions and so little room!  It was really cute!

Green Thumbs???

We decided to give the gardening thing a try.  This is a first for Clint and I. (Well... we both helped in the garden as kids, but never really did much of the work.)  My sis-in-law Ashley has an awesome garden and I always love seeing the things growing in her backyard.  There is something to be said about having your own fruits and veggies that you grew yourself!  Our garden area is not huge so we planted a few things this time and we'll try a few different next time.  We planted corn, lettuce, peas, tomatoes, and still might try some bell peppers and cantaloupe.  We'll see how it all turns out.  We're just hoping for our first go round that we get to enjoy just a few veggies.

Prepping the soil!  Quite proud, can you tell?

Getting ready to plant some corn
The kids helping plant some sugar snap peas
Archer enjoying the time outside (climbing on the jeep...big surprise!)

11 months...

This little man is 11 months old and is getting more fun every day! (except for the teething part, he is really a happy boy!)  Archer experienced a few fun and not-so fun things this month.

1st trip to urgent care: What we thought was just a cold quickly turned into more and gave us a scare.  Archer woke up from his nap breathing very rapidly (about 72 times a min.) was running a fever while on Ibuprofen and was acting very lethargic.  I decided to take him in and because it was a Sunday evening we opted for Urgent Care.  It turns out he had his 1st ear infection and a viral infection.  Once on the antibiotics he seemed so much happier!

Stands alone and took his first few steps on his own:  Although he's not yet walking he loves to cruise around and just stand up by himself.

Experienced his first stomach flu:  This is the absolute worst with a baby.  They do not understand and still want to eat and drink.  I felt so helpless for him.  Luckily we're all back to our normal selves and seem to be rid of the bugs that were lurking around for so long!

Quite the climber:  He loves to climb on everything.  At this stage I am so glad I don't have stairs!  I left the stool out next to the counter and was talking on the phone to Clint.  I turned my back for a minute and when I turned back around Archer had climbed up the two steps on the stool and was attempting to climb on the counter to get a banana.  I screamed, which scared him and caused him to fall, but I luckily caught him with my one free hand.  {lesson learned}

Does not like shopping carts:  He has recently learned that if he whines enough at the store I will eventually pick him up and then he whines til' I let him down.  Down as in on the ground!  He does not want to be in the shopping cart.  Needless to say, it's really hard to get any shopping done with him.  If I really want to get something done I have to bring a sucker along.  Works like a charm!
